How it works

The calculator works out how much space your belongings need before it asks you for anything. When you are ready, we pass the job to a storage provider who prices it and gets in touch.

Three steps

1. Describe what you are storing

Pick a property size for a quick estimate, or go room by room through the item list for an accurate one. Then tell us the emirate, when you need it and roughly how long for.

2. See the space

The calculator shows the volume of your belongings and how many pods that needs. You get it on screen straight away, without giving us your name. Most storage sites ask for your details first and send you a starting-from figure a day later.

3. Get your quote

Send us your details and we pass the job to a storage provider, with your room-by-room list attached so they are not starting from a blank page. They price it and contact you directly, usually with a single call.

Who we are, and who stores your things

We are not a storage operator. We own no warehouse and employ no crew. We work out how much space you need and put the job in front of a storage provider who can take it on.

From that point the arrangement is between you and them. They quote the price, they hold the contract, they insure the goods and you pay them directly. Read their terms before you book, because those are the terms that apply.

Our service costs you nothing. We are paid by the storage companies rather than by you, which does not change what you pay them. The privacy policy explains the arrangement in full.

Before launch: this page does not yet call any provider vetted, licensed or insured, and it must not until somebody has visited the warehouse, read the trade licence and seen the insurance certificate. Earn the claim, then make it. [to confirm]

Why there is no price on this site

An honest storage price depends on things a web form cannot tell you: the real volume once everything is out of the cupboards, whether there is a lift, whether the truck can park, and how long you end up storing for, which is almost never the number people guess at the start.

A site that shows you a figure before knowing any of that is showing you a starting-from number attached to a unit size it has not mentioned. That is little use for planning and it tends to move once somebody looks at the job properly.

So we answer the part we can answer exactly, which is the space, and we let the provider price it. The volume figure is the one you need anyway: it is what every quote you receive will be built on, and it is what lets you tell a fair price from a bad one.

What the space estimate covers

  • It is built from the volume you enter. If the real volume turns out larger on collection day, the pod count goes up and the price goes with it.
  • A pod is five cubic metres, and we assume it packs to about 85% full, because you cannot stack to the ceiling everywhere and furniture leaves gaps. The size guide shows the working.
  • Collection and redelivery are two separate trips, out and back. Whether either is included is for the provider to say.
  • Stairs take longer than a ground floor with a lift, and for storage that happens twice. Tell us about them and the provider can price the job properly the first time.
  • VAT is charged at 5% in the UAE and should appear on its own line on anything you are sent.

What happens to your details

Nothing reaches us until you submit the form. Up to that point the calculator runs in your browser and your progress is saved on your own device.

When you submit, your details and your item list go to storage companies so they can price the job and get in touch. We will not send you marketing of our own. If you want to know who received your enquiry, ask and we will tell you. The privacy policy sets out exactly what we do with your details and what we do not.

Start with the space

Every quote you get will be built on your volume, so it is worth knowing before you ask anyone.
