Terms of service

What a quote from this site is, what it is not, and who is responsible for what.

Version 1.0 Effective 2026-10-18

In short. We do not store your belongings and we are not party to the storage contract, so price, liability, insurance and cancellation are set by the provider you book with, in their terms.

Our role

This site is operated by Desert Consultancy FZE LLC. We work out how much space your belongings need and put you in touch with storage companies who can do the job. We are not a storage operator. We do not own warehouses or vehicles, we do not quote prices, and we do not take bookings or payment. Everything after the introduction is between you and the company you deal with.

Our service is free to you. We are paid by our partners instead: a fee for the enquiry, a commission if you book, or both. Submitting the form means agreeing that your enquiry may be passed or sold to them. It does not change what you pay them, and you are never obliged to book with anyone.

Because we are paid by them and not by you, we are not your agent and we are not giving you impartial advice about which company to use. Compare what you are offered and read their terms before you book.

The storage contract, the price, the insurance and any claim are all between you and the provider. Read their terms before you book. We are not a party to that contract and we cannot settle a dispute under it.

What the estimate is

  • It is an estimate and it is not an offer. Nothing on this site is a quote, no rate is being held for you, and no figure here binds anybody. The storage company sets the price and tells you what it is.
  • The space figure is calculated from what you enter and is accurate for what you enter. The volume decides which units the job needs.
  • This site does not show you a price. Prices, and what they include, come from the storage company that contacts you: the rent on the units, and collection, redelivery, stairs, packing and goods cover.
  • If the real volume turns out larger on collection day, the units go up and the price goes with them.
  • Prices you are given will be in UAE dirhams. VAT is charged at 5% in the UAE and should appear as a separate line on anything you are sent.
  • Billing terms, including whether storage is paid in advance, are the storage company's and are set out in their terms.

Getting back to you

We ask our partners to contact you within 24 hours of receiving your enquiry, and we tell you so on the form. That is their commitment and we are not a party to it. If nobody has been in touch, write to us through the contact page quoting your reference and we will follow it up with them.

Your responsibilities

  • Describe what you are storing accurately, including anything unusually heavy, fragile or valuable.
  • Tell us about the access. Floors, lifts, permits, narrow entrances. It is the part that most often turns a quote into a different quote on the day.
  • Make sure you are entitled to store the goods you hand over.

What cannot be stored

The provider sets its own prohibited-items list and that list governs. As a general guide, storage providers in the UAE will not accept:

  • Flammable, explosive or hazardous materials, including fuel, gas cylinders and paint.
  • Perishable food, plants and anything that attracts pests.
  • Living creatures.
  • Illegal items, and anything whose possession or storage is restricted under UAE law.
  • Cash, jewellery, documents and other high-value items that should not be left in general storage.

Check the provider's own list before collection day. Theirs is the one that applies.

Goods protection

The calculator asks which level of cover you want so the provider can quote for it. We do not provide, arrange or underwrite any cover. Ask the provider who underwrites it, what it excludes, what the limit is and how a claim is made, and get the answer in writing before you hand anything over.

Liability

If your belongings are damaged, lost or delayed, that is a matter between you and the provider who handled them, under their terms. We introduced you and we are not liable for their work. What we are responsible for is this site. The space figure on it is a calculation from what you type in. It is offered in good faith and without warranty, and it does not replace somebody looking at the job.

Cancellation and changes

Notice periods, deposits, the minimum storage period and what it takes to end storage and get your goods back are set out in the provider's terms. There is nothing to cancel with us, because you have not bought anything from us and you owe us nothing.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.

Changes to these terms

The version number at the top increases whenever this text changes. Each enquiry is governed by the version that was live when it was sent, and every enquiry we hold records which version that was.
